WHAT IS A CSA?
The concept of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model is to build a healthier food alternative by building a direct relationship between the farmer and the consumer. The relationship bounds the grower and the consumer to build a less environmentally impactful and a healthier local food system, thus sharing in the risk associated with natural farming as well the benefits of a bountiful season.

The benefits of buying produce directly from a local family farm are many: 1) Your money contributes to the local economy because it circulates locally; 2) Your CSA membership reduces your environmental impact because the food you eat travels less food miles, and you make it possible for small growers to grow food with knowledge and labor intensive methods not synthetic chemicals; 3) Your CSA membership helps build community by fostering local family farms --you know where your food is grown, you know how your food is grown, and you know who handles your food; 4) Your dollar stretches well with a CSA seasonal share because over the course of the growing season you end up buying local natural produce at wholesale prices; 5) Finally you learn to eat better and enjoy seasonal food.
